Payment of NBI Clearance Transaction
After selecting the mode of payment that suits you. For the sake of this example, I selected 7-Eleven as the mode of payment because its the most convenient for me.

After selecting the mode of payment which is 7-Eleven, NBI Clearance Online will show you the Reference Number. You need to write the NBI Clearance Reference number and bring it to the nearest 7-Eleven and pay for it.
For more details about paying your NBI Clearance in 7-Eleven, you may want to read our article about it: How to Pay Your NBI Clearance Application in 7-Eleven
After paying the said NBI Clearance reference number in any mode of payment you selected you need to check the status of your NBI Clearance Online application. When you check your transaction in the NBI Clearance Online website, you’ll see that in the details section that the status will change from “PENDING” to “PAID”.
Processing your NBI Clearance
After completing the NBI Clearance Online application, all you need to do is wait for your appointment date.
When the scheduled appointment date arrives, go to the NBI Clearance branch you have selected in your appointment. Bring at least Two (2) Valid Identification Cards and don’t forget your NBI Clearance Reference Number and your NBI Clearance Online Payment receipt.
You don’t have to print your NBI Clearance Application form, all you need to bring are the items I mentioned earlier.
Photo Capture and Biometrics
The last step in you NBI Clearance application will be the Photo Capture and Biometrics. In this step, all you need to do is follow the instruction of your NBI Clearance personnel on what to do.
We won’t discuss the picture taking which I’m very sure you’re familiar on how to do it. While Biometrics is scanning your finger print on their device. This will copy your finger prints and save it in their database.
We haven’t heard any issues on these steps as this the easiest part.
Releasing
NBI Clearance are issued immediately after you’ve done all the steps above. All you need to do is wait for a few minutes and your NBI Clearance will be printed and handed to you.
But the one day processing will not take place IF you have an NBI Clearance HIT. This means that the NBI Clearance Personnel will not issue your NBI Clearance and your NBI Clearance will be put on hold.
Most of the time, they will stamp your receipt with and date and ask you to claim it on that day. The reasons will be discussed further below.
NBI Clearance HIT
There are several reasons why you are tagged as HIT in your NBI Clearance and these are the following:
1. You have a namesake – this means that you have the same name with another person.
2. Your namesake has a pending criminal case or outstanding warrant of arrest – If you have a namesake and (unluckily), he/she have a pending criminal case or an outstanding warrant of arrest, unfortunately, your NBI Clearance release will be delayed.
3. You have a pending criminal case – if you have a pending criminal case or have an outstanding warrant of arrest, your name will be flagged and the issuance of your NBI Clearance will be on hold.
4. You had a criminal case – whether you are found guilty or innocent in your previous case, this matter will cause the delay of the issuance of your NBI Clearance hence your are tag a HIT.
If NBI Clearance Personnel determined that you fall on Numbers 2, 3 & 4, an additional step will be added to your NBI Clearance Application which is the NBI Clearance Quality Control.

NBI Clearance Quality Control
An NBI Clearance Quality Control is done in the presence of the NBI Resident Lawyer’s office. An interview will take place and basic personal information will be asked to prove the identity of the Applicant. This aims to prove that the person or NBI Clearance Applicant is not the same person appearing on their records that has a criminal case or a pending warrant of arrest.
If the applicant is not the same person appearing on their record with criminal liability, the NBI Clearance of the applicant will be released immediately.
