NBI Appointment: A Step-by-Step Guide to Securing Your NBI Clearance Appointment

NBI ONLINE APPOINTMENT — In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to schedule an NBI appointment for your NBI clearance application.

NBI Appointment Requirements: To schedule an NBI appointment for your NBI Clearance website, you need the following:

• An active NBI Clearance Online Account
• A valid ID (see complete list of Valid IDs for NBI Clearance Requirements)

To start our process, go to the NBI Clearance website at clearance.nbi.gov.ph.

If you don’t have an account yet, you can register. Refer to our article on how to apply for NBI Clearance Online in 2024.

If you already have an active NBI Clearance Online account, input your email address and password in the login section and press the “Sign In” button.

Once signed in, you’ll be directed to your Personal Information page. As you have an active account, simply press the “APPLY FOR CLEARANCE” button to schedule your NBI appointment.

A small window will appear asking for the type of valid ID and its ID number. Select the valid ID from the drop-down menu and enter its ID number. This ID must be presented when processing your NBI Clearance in person. Press “Agree” when done.

Quickly read the “Important Reminder” pop-up window and press the close button.

Now, you’ll be directed to the NBI Appointment window to schedule your visit. Here, select the NBI branch, set the date and time, and pay your NBI clearance fees.

Let’s break down the details!

Start by selecting the NBI clearance branch. Choose the one most convenient for you to avoid being late due to heavy traffic and long travel times.

Next, pick the date and time of your NBI appointment using the calendar on your screen. Ensure the date is suitable for you, and whether it’s AM or PM doesn’t matter much.

Once selected, review your appointment schedule. If satisfied, it’s time to choose your payment option.

For paying your NBI Clearance Fee, we recommend using GCash. Click the GCash logo to select it as your payment method.

A small window will remind you that an NBI Clearance Online Reference Number will be generated. Click “Proceed.”

Ignore the displayed amount for now; press “Proceed to Payment.”

Another window will show your NBI Reference Number and the amount. Take note of these details and press “Accept” after capturing a screenshot.

Pay your NBI Clearance fees using your GCASH mobile app. Log in to your GCASH Account and ensure your GCASH account has at least P160.00.

Go to the GCash BILLS section.

Then in the search box, type in “NBI”. Once the search result appears, press it to select.

Enter the amount (P160), your NBI Clearance Reference number, contact number, and email address. Press “Next.”

In the Payment source page, choose “GCASH” and press “Next” above.

Confirm the details on the confirmation page. Double-check your NBI Clearance Reference Number, and if correct, press “Confirm.”

The next page is your Payment receipt. Save or take a screenshot; you might need it later.

Processing Your NBI Clearance

Once you’ve finished all the required steps, like creating an account, filling out the form, scheduling an appointment, and paying the fees for your NBI Clearance, the last thing to do is to process it at the branch you chose. Just wait for your appointed date, and go to the specific NBI Clearance Branch.

On the day of your NBI appointment, be sure to show up at the NBI Clearance Branch at the time you selected—either in the morning or the afternoon.

Gather your valid IDs, NBI Clearance Reference number, and take a screenshot of your NBI Clearance Fee receipt. In our previous illustration, we utilized GCash for payment.

Then, head straight to the NBI Clearance Staff counter and show them your NBI Clearance Reference Number and valid ID. The NBI Clearance Staff will get your NBI Online Application and start the processing.

You will go through fingerprinting and photo capture, involving the collection of your fingerprints and other biometric data, like a photo, to confirm your identity.

Following that, the NBI Clearance Staff will display all the information you provided and give you a chance to review for any errors or mistakes. If you find any, let the staff know, and they will correct it.

Once it’s confirmed that all your personal details are accurate, your application goes through initial quality control processing. During this phase, the NBI Online Services System checks if you have a “HIT” or “No Hit” record in their database.

A “HIT” means “Hits: Identification of Two or More Persons Bearing the Same Name.” If your application results in a “HIT,” it suggests a potential match or similarity with someone who may have a criminal record or pending case.

At this stage, the NBI Clearance Staff will inform you of the expected release date, depending on whether you have a “HIT” or not.

For a “HIT,” the NBI will conduct further verification to confirm your identity and distinguish you from the person with a similar name or details. This typically takes 10 to 15 working days, during which you might need to provide additional information or documents to resolve any discrepancies.

If there’s no “HIT,” you’ll be directed to the RELEASING SECTION of the NBI Clearance, where you can collect your freshly printed NBI Clearance. Just wait for your name to be called, and it will be ready for collection.

NBI Appointment Conclusion

Congratulations on receiving your NBI Clearance! For some, this marks the completion of the entire process, but if you find yourself with a “hit” status, unfortunately, there’s a bit more to do. You’ll need to return to the NBI Branch on the specified date. Don’t worry, though—you will still get your clearance! Just patiently wait for that day to arrive, and then return to claim it.
